A pioneer of philanthropy in India

Azim Premji became one of the first signatories of the Giving Pledge outside the United States when he joined the community in 2013. He is a role model of generosity in India and around the world, having contributed more than $29 billion to the Azim Premji Foundation since it was created in 2001. The foundation’s vision is to contribute towards a more just, equitable, humane and sustainable society, and much of their work is focused on advancing education in India.
