I pledge to give away 99% of the wealth that my late-wife Beth and I have earned—during my lifetime or at my death if I do not live long enough to finish giving it in a thoughtful way.

My giving has been informed by my investment career, which taught me that the best long-term investments are typically superior businesses with effective leaders and supportive cultures. As such, finding compelling organizations is paramount to solving problems at their root rather than treating their symptoms. Insisting on accountable results is important.

These philanthropical investments will continue to emphasize poverty eradication, high-quality education, medical and scientific research, and government policy research. In addition our giving will also focus on programs that promote individual freedom, economic liberty, and personal responsibility, principles drawn by the founders of our country.
